Happy Europe Day! And congratulations to Europe XXI on its 2nd anniversary! Today, on May 9th, we celebrate the EU anniversary with the Schuman Declaration, which is considered the foundation of the European Union. It is a day to commemorate peace, unity, and democracy, as well as to reflect on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
Europe XXI joined the oficial commemorations in Leiria organized by the European Parliament and the European Commission in Portugal. Europe XXI’s participation in the “Democracy in Action” event highlights the importance of engagement and involvement in shaping the future of Europe. The event brought together the european institutions, MEPs, and representatives from various organizations to discuss civic and democratic participation.
As we celebrate Europe Day, we must also acknowledge the challenges that Europe is facing, including the pandemic recovery, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, and the economic and energy crisis affecting Europeans. It is more important than ever to strengthen our commitment to the values of freedom and democracy that underpin the European project.
Despite these challenges, the EU has made significant progress over the years, and we must continue to work towards a more united, prosperous, and peaceful Europe, where every citizen can enjoy their rights and freedoms. Let us celebrate the achievements of the European Union, the Europe XXI’s 2nd anniversary, and renew our commitment to a better future for all Europeans.
