Europe XXI at the Forefront of Digital Innovation: Crafting a Citizen-Focused Digital Europe

On April 14, 2023, two members of Europe XXI, Tiago Rocha and Inês Neves, took part in the 1st International Conference “A Digital Europe for Citizens” held at the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto (FDUP). This event was organized by FDUP, the Centre for Legal Research (CIJ), and the team behind the DigEuCit project – A Digital Europe for Citizens. Constitutional and Policymaking Challenges.

The conference was centered around three main themes: i. data governance, ii. digital markets, and iii. digital services. It featured a keynote speech by Professor Oreste Pollicino from Bocconi University and included presentations from esteemed international and national speakers.

Tiago Rocha presented on the topic of digital services, while Inês Neves discussed digital markets. Both Tiago and Inês were part of the event’s Organization Committee, contributing to the successful execution of the conference.

In today’s digital age, it is crucial for citizens to be informed and engaged in discussions regarding the governance of data, the functioning of digital markets, and the development of digital services.
