Shaping Tomorrow’s Europe: Insights and Connections from the First Alumni Summer CEmp Meeting

On March 31st and April 1st, 2023, Europe XXI members Pedro Ferreirinha and Carolina Marques had the honor of participating in the First Alumni Summer CEmp Meeting held in the charming town of Sesimbra, Portugal. This event served as a unique platform for collaboration, networking, and dialogue among individuals from various professional backgrounds and political ideologies, all committed to shaping the future of Europe.

Event Highlights:

1. Reconnecting with Summer CEmp alumni – The meeting brought together participants from the five editions of Summer CEmp, providing a great platform for networking, sharing experiences, and discussing the most pressing issues facing the European Union in 2023.
2. Engaging with Europe Direct Center coordinators – On the 31st of March, we had the opportunity to connect with the coordinators of the 15 Europe Direct Centers spread across Portugal. These centers play a crucial role in communicating the European Union’s policies and values to local and regional audiences.
3. Presenting Europe XXI – During the event, we introduced Europe XXI, our non-profit organization focused on building a better Europe by embracing the challenge of rethinking the continent in the 21st century. We shared our goals, initiatives, and our commitment to finding solutions to pressing global challenges.
4. Collaborative activities and workshops – The meeting featured various activities and workshops aimed at developing community mobilization projects and fostering collaboration among alumni and Europe Direct Center coordinators. These interactive sessions provided valuable insights and generated numerous ideas for future joint initiatives.

The First Alumni Summer CEmp Meeting was an invaluable experience for Europe XXI, as it allowed us to forge meaningful connections, gain new insights, and explore potential avenues for collaboration. We are excited to apply the knowledge gained from this event and work alongside the Summer CEmp alumni network and Europe Direct Centers to create a more inclusive and prosperous future for Europe.
